On May 18, 1881, General Lew Wallace was appointed U.S. Minister Resident to the Ottoman Empire by President Garfield.

Governor Level - $100
In September 1878, General Wallace was appointed Governor of the
New Mexico Territory.

Major General Level - $50
Lew Wallace was commissioned Major General of U.S. Volunteers on March 21, 1862. On July 9, 1864, he fought a battle at Monocacy that saved the city of Washington D.C. from capture by Confederate forces.

Lieutenant Level - $25
When the Mexican War began, Lew Wallace entered the service on June 18, 1846, as a 2nd Lieutenant.
