DESCRIPTION:This year’s Holiday Tea & Fashion Show will be held on Friday\, December 6\, 2024 with the theme being “St. Nicholas” The event is a major fundraiser for the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum and will be hosted at the Elston Homestead at 400 East Pike Street. Visitors may attend the holiday event any time between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. \nElston Homestead\nThe impressive Elston Homestead\, located on Pike Street\, was the childhood home of Susan Elston Wallace. It is now owned by Wabash College. Each year\, designers from Milligan’s Flowers & Gifts provide elaborate holiday decorations for the Tea. \nA spotlight feature of the event is an interactive fashion show featuring local models wearing fashions from local boutique heathcliff. The fashion show will begin at 3:30. \nIn addition\, visitors will win door prizes throughout the afternoon. All ticket-holders are automatically entered in the drawing. Attendees need not be present to win. Door prizes will be distributed throughout. \nRefreshments include tea and coffee\, served with sweet and savory treats. Special thanks go to Bon Appétit and tea committee members for the preparation and festive presentation of the food and drink. \nAnother highlight of the afternoon will be live holiday music by the Wabash College Glee Club. \n2024 Models\n\nTBD

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nEach year\, thousands of history enthusiasts\, community-minded citizens\, families\, Boy and Girl Scouts\, ROTC units and more come together in an effort to help keep our nation’s heritage not only preserved\, but pristine. Activities are chosen by each participating site and can include building trails\, raking leaves\, painting signs\, putting up fences and contributing to site interpretation. \nIn addition to the satisfaction that volunteer work brings\, participants will receive a free tour of the General Lew Wallace Study & Museum. Park Day can also be used to fulfill the service requirements associated with scout groups\, student organizations\, training corps programs\, many school systems\, and more. \nPark Day allows the American Battlefield Trust to cast a spotlight on beloved American landscapes nationwide. Projects will keep historic sites and battlefields clean\, open and accessible for the enjoyment of all — this year\, Park Day projects included painting signs\, garden maintenance\, trash and leaf removal\, marker clean-up\, trail and fence building and more!
