Spots are still available for our three-day ArchiCamp, held in partnership with Indiana Landmarks. The June 20-22 program is open to students ages 8-12.
ArchiCamp uses historic architecture to educate and excite children about local history and instills stewardship and responsibility for our cultural heritage. During the three-day camp, students will learn about Crawfordsville’s architectural heritage, including the historic Study building.
Campers will take walking tours, learn about architectural terms, make architecture-based crafts, build local buildings from cardboard boxes, and learn about careers in historic preservation and discuss preservation successes in our community.
“This is a great opportunity for local students to tour buildings that are local landmarks and learn about the people who created them,” says Associate Director Amanda McGuire. “Many campers enjoy it so much they return year after year.”
Snacks will be provided each day, but campers should bring a sack lunch. The camp costs $25 and scholarships are available. If you would like to register a student for ArchiCamp, please contact Amanda McGuire at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (765) 362-5769.
