5 Painless Ways to Donate

Donating to your favorite museum doesn’t have to be difficult. We want to make it easy for you to support us. Here’s a list of five easy ways for you to donate to the Lew Wallace Study Preservation Society.

1. Donate by shopping at Amazon Smile

You’re going to be shopping on Black Friday and Cyber Monday anyway, right? Did you know you can contribute a 1% of your purchases to the Lew Wallace Study Preservation Society? It’s easy! Simply navigate to smile.amazon.com and select the LWSPS as your organization to support. Then shop as you usually would.

2. Donate on #GivingTuesday

We’re participating in #GivingTuesday this year on Tuesday, December 3. Check out our blog post about it for more information, and help spread the word by Tweeting about #GivingTuesday.

3. Donate Online via PayPal

We’ve made it very easy for you to donate to the Making A Historic Difference Campaign or our general fund while you’re at our website. Our Join and Support page has PayPal options that will walk you through the steps. It’s a quick and secure way for you to make a donation from your credit card or linked bank account. You can also choose to support us with a Lew Wallace Study Preservation Society membership, which can also be purchased via PayPal.

4. Donate through a brokerage account contribution with Hoosier Heartland State Bank

Hoosier Heartland State Bank (HHSB) is a significant contributor to the Making A Historic Difference Campaign. The bank recently made a presentation to the museum board of trustees that identified an option for donors wishing to secure a sound future for themselves and for the charities special to them. If you are interested in a Fixed-Indexed Annuity that preservers your principal, generates growth, and maintains control of principal as you give money, email Terry Daniels at Hoosier Heartland State Bank.

5. Donate from your IRA

Congress allows individuals aged 70 1/2 and older to transfer up to $100,000 from an IRA directly to a qualified charity without having to pay income taxes. Known as the IRA charitable rollover, this law has been extended to the end of 2013. Your gift would qualify under this law if: you are 70 1/2 years or older at the time of your gift; you transfer up to $100,000 directly from your IRA (this applies only to IRAs); and you transfer funds outright to one or more qualified charities

If you don’t have the financial resources to donate, we still love you! You might consider volunteering some of your time here. Or use your social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter to spread the news about us. Do you have a particular skill you think might be of use to us? Let us know! We know we wouldn’t be here without the support and enthusiasm of all our friends. Thank you for being a part of our on-going mission to tell the world about Lew Wallace and preserve his legacy.

Hopefully this post has given you a few great ideas about ways you can help further our mission. If you have any questions, feel free to comment here or contact us!
